A real start!

OK, call me slow if you will, but tonight I hooked up the jumper leads from the trusty Subaru Forrester and tried to kick her (the bike) over. The lights came on, the starter motor squealed, the motor ... did nothing! I went off to get some petrol from where the mower lives, came back, tried it again and woo-hoo, she came to life with a growl and a roar! I revved and revved again, enjoying the sound and the smell of the now exhaust-filled garage. It was music to my ears, though not apparently to my wife's, nor, as she informed me, at 9:40pm on a Saturday night, to those of the neighbours and most the neighbourhood dogs. What can I say? It's a quite area. I reserve the right on at least one night in my life to be that annoying person with the roaring engine waking everyone up.
